Caring for Your Surgical Instruments

Proper cleaning, sterilisation and storage extend the life of stainless-steel surgical instruments and keep them performing safely.

Daily maintenance

Rinse instruments immediately after use to prevent blood and saline from corroding the surface. Use a neutral-pH enzymatic cleaner and a soft brush around hinges and serrations.

Sterilisation

Autoclave at the manufacturer's recommended cycle. Always keep box-joints and ratchets open so steam reaches every surface.
